An excellent model kit of the Dutch lightvessel No.10 Texel is available since March 2003. The size is 1:200, which is the international scale for models of merchant navy ships. The parts consist of resin, metal, plastic card, etchparts and decalvel. The hull is massive and the overall number of parts is 105.
The Stichting Historie der Kustverlichting (Foundation History of Coastal Lighthing) has taken the first set on its account. Only these first models come with an authentic numbered certificate.
The kit of the lightvessel No.10 Texel / Terschellingerbank is produced by the Nautisch Bureau Woort, where professionality and technical know-how lead to an outstanding model of high quality and detail.
The designer - Mr. J. Woort - has already won many prizes for his models in the Netherlands as well as on the international scene. During the "Flandres Contest 2003", the jury was unanimous that the Texel was the best model and so declared it as the winner. During the Dutch Regional Contest the model achieved second place.
The kit is available either at the giftshop of the Museum Lightvessel at Den Helder, or by order from Lyda van der Steen:
